Hiking Options

Takamatsu has a lot of really wonderful nature, which would be a shame to miss out on. I am quite fond of hiking.
The first place I hiked at Mineyama mountain. At the top there is an observation deck, with a wonderful view over the city. Since I was half biking, half walking the way up there, and I was alone I went doing the day, But I’ve heard that it’s really pretty going up there doing the night or around sunset time.
On the way up there you’ll come by a quite little park, multiple interesting shrines, and a honey shop. The hike starts around Iwaso Hachiman Shrine, which is also a place I can recommend to visit.

The view from the observation deck. It takes about an hour to get up here.

The blue markings are different hiking routes. There is plenty to choose from.

There are other hiking routes from the other side of the mountain as well, which are a bit more deserted. Doing the spring there are also wild boars, which you’ll need to look out for. There are plenty of signs hanging around the area to warn you about this.
