【Takamatsu City Museum of Art】

Near the shopping street there is a cute museum located, which you should definitely visit, if you are a fan of art!
Throughout the year they’ll have different art installations, which you can check out on their website.
They have a small permanent installation with modern art made by Japanese artists. They only have a small pamphlet in English, however. All the other signs and explanations are in Japanese.

When I was there, there was a really interesting installations about the different arts in Kagawa. Unfortunately it isn’t allowed to take pictures inside, so I don’t have any to show, but nonetheless it was really cool.

This is a picture from inside the museum hall.
Inside the building you’ll also find a small cafe and a library. Sadly the only books they have are in Japanese, but even if you can’t read Japanese, it’s still a very nice atmosphere in there. These can be seen on the left here in the picture.
This is also a great activity to do if the weather is a bit gloomy or rainy. Generally it doesn’t rain that much in Takamatsu though. Only doing the rain season, which is from end of May to mid July, you’ll experience a lot of rain.

If you are coming with either car or bike, the museum has designated parking spots. The cars park in the basement, and the bikes, park on the opposite site of the entrance. DO NOT park your bike anywhere else, if you do it will be in danger of being taken away. I made this mistake, and I came out my bike had been removed, as I accidently parked it in a offiece bike parking spot. I was very lucky though, so I only got my bike parked at another spot near by.
