I went to Konpirasan

Hello, everyone. This is Yuki, a volunteer staff at Traditional Apartment.
The rainy season finally started yesterday in Kanto Koshin area, how are you all doing?
In Shikoku, the rainy season started a month ago, but we’ve been having almost no rain.

Yesterday, the weather forecast called for rain, but when I looked up at the sky, it didn’t look like it was going to rain, so I decided to go to Kompirasan.
The nearest station to Kompirasan, Kotoden Kotohira Station, is about an hour away by Kotoden from Kawaramachi Station, right in front of our guest house

It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Kotoden Kotohira Station to the entrance to the shrine, and from there it takes about 30 minutes to climb the 785 steps to the main shrine.

What a surprise, I found a Shiseido Parlor’s cafe near the main shrine!

It seems that this is the only Shiseido Parlour ‘s cafe&restaurant in western Japan.

There was a unique loquat parfait, and I ordered it without hesitation.
*This menu is only available from June 1 to 15.

The parfait was not too sweet, but had Sophisticated taste. It was very delicious.

You can also try feeding wild birds at this cafe.

As I waited with my hands outstretched for the sunflower seeds given by a waitress, a very cute bird called “yamagara” would perch on my hand.

When you visit Kompirasan, please stop by Shiseido Parlor “Kamitsubaki“.
The seasonal parfait changes every month, so you can check the details from the official website here.
